Privacy Policy

SellingCurrently is an independent reference site about marketplace fees, cross-border VAT, and platform comparisons for sellers across Europe, the UK, and the US. This page explains what data the site collects and how it is used.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which guides are read and how visitors arrive. Analytics and advertising set cookies in your browser; the newsletter sign-up form does not. None of this loads until you accept it: on your first visit a banner lets you accept or decline. If you decline, no analytics or marketing cookies are set, and you can still read everything. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the setting stored in your browser.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is processed by Kit (our email provider) to send occasional updates and the resources you signed up for. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time, which removes you from the list. We never sell or share your address. You are only added after you confirm through the link in the confirmation email (double opt-in); the legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. Kit is based in the United States, so your address is transferred there. Kit is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and its data processing agreement includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Server logs

The site is hosted in the European Union, on our own server. Like any website, it keeps standard access logs — IP address, request time, page and browser user agent — for security and troubleshooting. Complete logs are kept for up to 14 days; after that, a copy with the IP address shortened is kept for up to 13 months for traffic statistics. For security and abuse investigation, an encrypted copy of the full logs is kept for up to 13 months; it is opened only to investigate a specific incident, and every opening is recorded. These logs are not used to profile individual visitors.

Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold (essentially your newsletter email, if you subscribed) and request access or deletion. For newsletter data, unsubscribing removes you immediately. You can also ask about server-log data.
